My GREAT Grandmother lived until 1989 just shy of her 98th Birthday. She was instrumental in many ways in my life. One
thing I remember is her quilts.
I honor her by making a paper pieced quilt for her with my journalling on each square. The second page is my favorite
pictures of her. The second page is a work in progress.

My Grandma Higby is/was my best friend. I wrote her for nearly 20 years and always looked forward to her letters.
When she died in August of 2001, I was heart broken. I was unable to get to a telephone to tell her that I loved her
-- although I know she knew that from our years of letter writing.
I wasn't able to deal with my grief as September 11th nearly cost me my husband and then in December of 2001 we lost
my husband's Uncle unexpectedly (his page is forthcoming).
After an emotional breakdown, it was part of my therapy to create the scrapbook pages as part of my art therapy.
It was/is healing.
